Jaccob Slavin has been nominated for the Lady Byng Trophy.
Slavin won the award in 2020-21 after recording 15 points and just two penalty minutes in 52 contests. In 2021-22, he had four goals, 42 points, and 10 penalty minutes in 79 contests. The last defenseman to win the award in back-to-back years was Red Kelly, who took it in 1953 and 1954.

Slavin helped get Carolina's offense going with his assist on Teuvo Teravainen's late first-period goal, then later dished for another helper on the second of Max Domi's second-period goals. On the whole this series, Slavin was fantastic, tallying eight total points. He'll try to stay hot in the Eastern Semis, with Carolina set to face the winner of Sunday's Game 7 showdown between the Penguins and Rangers.
