Hamilton's ninth goal of the season came just 1:12 into the extra period. His first game winner as a member of the Devils was assisted by Jack Hughes and Pavel Zacha. Hamilton has recorded seve career overtime goals. He has two goals and two assists in six games since returning from a broken jaw. Hamilton has nine goals and 24 points over 36 appearances this season.

Hamilton, who has been sporting a regular jersey for the last few sessions, worked on the second power-play unit and continued to skate on the fourth pairing with Christian Jaros. New Jersey doesn't play until Thursday, but it remains unclear if Hamilton will be ready to play by then.
