Louis Domingue allowed four goals on 37 shots in Friday's 5-3 Game 6 loss to the New York Rangers.
Domingue was doing what was asked of him in this one up until a terrible blunder late in the contest handed this one to the Rangers. Chris Kreider's slapper appeared to catch Domingue up high, deflecting the puck up-and-over the netminder and into the net for the winner. Tristan Jarry has been practicing and all eyes will be on him with a pivotal Game 7 scheduled for Sunday.
Louis Domingue is expected to start in Game 6 against the New York Rangers on Friday night.
Domingue occupied the starter's crease during the morning skate and he was the first goalie off the ice. Tristan Jarry (lower body) has been progressing, but he isn't ready to play yet. Domingue gave up four goals on 33 shots in a 5-3 loss to the Rangers on Wednesday. He has a 3-2 record this postseason with a 3.56 GAA and .900 SV% in five games played.
Louis Domingue surrendered four goals on 33 shots in Wednesday's 5-3 Game 5 loss to the New York Rangers.
Domingue and the Penguins had a chance to eliminate New York on Wednesday and they looked locked in early, jumping out to a 2-0 lead about eight minutes into the second period. Shortly thereafter is when Domingue's troubles began, as the Rangers once again showed their comeback fire with consecutive goals by Adam Fox, Alexis LaFreniere and Jacob Trouba. Jake Guentzel would tie things back up for Pittsburgh before the final intermission. Filip Chytil snapped that 3-3 tie decisively early in the third period, scoring against Domingue on power-play to keep New York's postseason alive. The Penguins will try once more for the playoff-ender on what could be a wild Friday the 13th upcoming.
