Jake DeBrusk has rescinded his trade request.
DeBrusk's, agent Rick Valette, spoke with Bruins GM Don Sweeney last week and he informed him that DeBrusk was happy to continue to play for Boston. He still could be moved, but that seems unlikely at this point. DeBrusk is under contract for the next two seasons.
Jake DeBrusk isn't sure if he'll retract his trade request.
DeBrusk's request became public in November, but he hasn't thought about it in a while. He's going to head back home and talk it over with his family before making a decision. He did sign a two-year, $8 million contract back in March, but he would have otherwise been a RFA this summer, so the Bruins held his rights regardless. "I wouldn't have signed something if I wasn't OK with that," said DeBrusk. "It was a crazy circumstance around that time especially. I was excited to sign that, I think that's when my game took off as well. Like I said, I haven't had to answer these questions for a while so I think that's when my game turned around."
Jake DeBrusk had one goal and one assist in Sunday's 5-2 win against Carolina in Game 4.
DeBrusk recorded both of his point during Boston power plays. He also posted five shots on target in the match. DeBrusk has three points in the past two games after he was held off the scoresheet in the first two contests of Boston's first-round series versus the Hurricanes.
Jake DeBrusk scored a goal in Friday's 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
DeBrusk scored on a power play in the third period to make the score seem a little more respectable. However the game doesn't mean much in the grand scheme of things as the Bruins had nothing to play for in their last regular season game. DeBrusk finished the regular season with 25 goals and 42 points in 77 games.
