Jake Allen will miss the rest of the campaign due to a groin injury.
Allen suffered the injury during Saturday's game. He will finish the campaign with a 9-20-4 record, 3.30 GAA, and .905 save percentage in 35 starts. He's expected to be fine by the start of training camp.
Jake Allen (lower body) doesn't have a timetable for his return yet, per coach Martin St. Louis.
“I don’t think it’s the same one," said St. Louis on Monday when asked if the lower-body injury was the same that kept him out previously., "and I have no idea how long he’s going to be out. Sorry." Allen was injured in Saturday's match against Toronto.
Jake Allen (lower body) will not return to Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Allen was replaced in-net by Sam Montembeault 13-plus minutes into the first period of Saturday's contest. Consider the netminder day-to-day moving forward. Hopefully the Canadiens will offer a little more information on this one upon completion of the game.
It will be Jake Allen in net for Montreal Saturday when they face the Maple Leafs in Toronto.
There was some thought that Carey Price would be making his seasonal debut but that is not to be. Allen is 9-20-4 with a 3.29 GAA and a .904 save percentage. It is a tough matchup against the high-flying Leafs so we would suggest not playing Allen if you have alternate choices.
