Joel Edmundson played in his 400th NHL game Sunday.
Congratulations are in order for Edmundson who has endured a tough season due to a back injury and the passing of his father.
Joel Edmundson will be held out of Sunday's game against Philadelphia.
Edmundson made his season debut on Saturday versus Seattle. He logged 16:38 of ice time, while posting six hits, two shots and two penalty minutes. It shouldn't come as a surprise that he won't play the second half of a back-to-back after such a long absence following a troublesome back issue.
Joel Edmundson (back) will make his seasonal debut Saturday.
The Montreal Canadiens made the announcement Saturday morning after he was a full participant in practice Friday. The solid defenseman will help out the Habs blueline but has little fantasy value.
Joel Edmundson (back) practiced on Friday and coach Martin St. Louis indicated the blueliner is "close" to making his season debut.
Edmundson has been on the shelf with a lower-back injury, which has been through several setbacks along the way. He was a full participant in Friday's practice, but an exact timetable for his return is unclear.
