Columbus GM Jarmo Kekalainen said that Boone Jenner playing center "has grown on them."
Jenner has seen time on the wing and at center. He missed the final 23 games of the 2021-22 season because of a lower back injury. Jenner is expected to be ready for training camp.
Boone Jenner said on Saturday that he does not require back surgery and is looking forward to spending the summer training and getting ready for training camp.
Jenner missed the last seven weeks of the season with the injury. He finished the year with 23 goals and 44 points in 59 games in what was really his best season in the NHL.
Boone Jenner (back) will not return before the end of the season.
Jenner was last in the lineup on March 11. He has 23 goals and 44 points in 59 contests in 2021-22.
Boone Jenner (lower back) is still regarded as being week-to-week.
Jenner hasn't played since March 11. While he's not close to returning, Blue Jackets coach Brad Larsen did say that he hasn't been ruled out for the rest of the regular season. "He’s making progress, but it’s week-to-week," Larsen said. "I think there’s a real good chance that he could be back at some point."
