Tyler Toffoli scored a goal in Tuesday's 2-1 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Toffoli scored a goal against Darcy Kuemper midway through the second period, but despite 45 shots on-goal as a team, that would be the lone one to find home on Kuemper's watch. On the whole this season, Toffoli has tallied 18 goals and 44 points across 58 games played while splitting time between the Canadiens and Flames. He had gone seven games without a goal before punching the clock on Tuesday.
Tyler Toffoli did not record a point in Sunday's 3-0 loss to the Colorado Avalanche.
Toffoli led the Flames with six shot attempts, but none found their way home on a dominant Darcy Kuemper. Overall this season, Toffoli has posted 17 goals and 39 points in 38 games played while splitting time between the Canadiens and Flames.
Tyler Toffoli scored a couple of goals in Monday’s 3-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers.
Toffoli opened the scoring in the game on a power-play when he picked a corner on Mikko Koskinen at the 6:27 mark of the second period. Just over three minutes later, the 29-year-old ripped a beautiful shot past the Edmonton netminder to double Calgary’s lead. Toffoli finished the game with a plus-1 rating and two shots on goal in 13:55 of ice-time. Since being traded to the Flames, Toffoli has seven goals and three assists in 10 games.
Tyler Toffoli will face the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday for the first time since being traded.
Montreal dealt Toffoli to the Calgary Flames on Feb. 14 in exchange for Tyler Pitlick, the rights to Emil Heineman, a first round draft pick, and a 2023 fifth round pick. So far that trade has worked out great for Calgary with Toffoli scoring five goals and seven points in seven contests as a member of the Flames. “In the short period Tyler was there, and you go to the finals, you build a relationship with teammates that is pretty special to go that far,” said Flames associate coach Kirk Muller. He also did well with Montreal and was part of the Canadiens' unlikely run to the 2021 Stanley Cup Final. “He walked away with pretty good memories in that period of time there. I can’t speak for him, but I think he’s looked at that group and walked away saying he had a really good experience playing for an Original Six team and going to the finals and everything. But he has a great opportunity to come to a good team that’s doing well now and moving forward. It’ll be a little mixed (emotions) that way, but probably not as much when he left L.A.”
