Travis Konecny asked Philadelphia Flyer fans to be patient.
After the last couple of seasons, that is all you can ask them for as the Flyers have been mediocre in both years. "It’s just ups and downs I think," Konecny said at his end-of-the-season press conference at the end of April. "It’s not what we’ve all hoped for but there’s been plenty of teams that have dipped for a few years and then they're contenders and great playoff teams for years to come. Be patient, we’re coming." Konecny has been on a downward spiral in the last two seasons as he had 61 points three seasons ago but only 34 points in 50 games in 2020-21 and 52 points in 79 games with a minus-23 rating last season.
Travis Konecny was not happy with his 2021-22 campaign.
Konecny had 16 goals and 52 points this season and currently is having his name bandied about in off-season trade rumors. “For me, my season was unacceptable, and I want to come back and do more next year,” Konecny said. Kocency also said that he will not play for Team Canada at the upcoming World Championships as he wants to spend time with his young son.
Travis Konecny registered an assist in a 3-1 loss to Chicago on Monday.
Konecny extended his point streak to six games. He has 16 goals and 52 points in 77 contests in 2021-22.
Travis Konecny posted two assists in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Konecny handed out helpers on second- and third-period goals by James van Riemsdyk and Ronnie Attard. That was the whole of the Flyers' offense on the evening. Over the course of 74 games played this season, Konecny has notched 14 goals and 49 points. He is now working on a little three-game point streak.
