Down a goal late and on a power play, Oshie got his stick on a loose puck before Aaron Ekblad accidentally put the puck into his own net to force overtime in this one. Unfortunately for the Capitals, Oshie's sixth of the series wasn't enough as Carter Verhaeghe officially Washington's postseason run with a goal in the extra period. Nicklas Backstrom and Nic Dowd also scored in this one for the Caps.

Oshie connected for goals against Sergei Bobrovsky in the first and second periods to help Washington build up a 3-0 lead. The good times would not last, though, with Florida scoring the final five goals of regulation. Oshie has now scored goals in three consecutive games this series, with four total goals netted in that space. He'll try for more of the same in Game 6 on Friday.

The Capitals were so close to taking a 3-1 lead in this best-of-seven series, but they let it slip away. Oshie opened the scoring with a power play goal in the first period and he helped set up Evgeny Kuznetsov's go-ahead marker midway through the third. Unfortunately for the Caps, Sam Reinhart scored the game-tying goal late in regulation and Carter Verhaeghe added the game-winner in OT. This best-of-seven series is tied, 2-2. 

Just over two minutes after Evgeny Kuznetsov knotted up the scoreboard with a goal against Sergei Bobrovsky midway through the third period, Oshie came through in stunning style, playing his shot true off Nicklas Backstrom's pass to put the Caps ahead by a goal. They would close out the final 10 minutes of regulation in tense, effective, survival mode. While Oshie is no longer consistently the offensive threat he might have been as a younger man, he showed that he can still rise to the moment. The Caps will have a chance to really make Florida sweat when they meet up for Game 2 on Thursday.
