Sam Reinhart scored Florida's only goal in a 5-1 loss to Tampa Bay in Game 3 of Round 2 on Sunday afternoon.
Reinhart got the Panthers on the board during a first-period power play to tie the game at 1-1. The goal on the man advantage was Florida's first of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs after they came up empty on their first 25 opportunities. Aleksander Barkov and Jonathan Huberdeau posted the assists on Reinhart's third goal of the playoffs. The Panthers have been pushed to the brink of elimination and could be eliminated from the postseason if they lose on Monday night.
Sam Reinhart is slated to play on the second line in Game 2 against Washington.
Reinhart was alongside Jonathan Huberdeau and Sam Bennett during the morning skate. The move bumped Claude Giroux to the third combination with Anton Lundell and Mason Marchment. Reinhart had a minus-2 rating and one shot in Game 1 on Tuesday.
Sam Reinhart will partake in his first NHL playoff game Tuesday.
That's what happens when you spend your entire career before this season with the Buffalo Sabres. Reinhart moved from worst to first with the trade to Florida and had an outstanding season with a career best 33 goals and 82 points in 78 games. He should have been taken high in playoff pools as the Panthers are one of the favorites to win the Stanley Cup.
Sam Reinhart won't be in the lineup on Friday against Montreal.
Reinhart will be rested by the Panthers in the team's regular-season finale along with Jonathan Huberdeau, Aleksander Barkov, Claude Giroux, MacKenzie Weegar and Sam Bennett.
