Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon said Thursday that the timeline for Robin Lehner to be ready for training camp "will be tight."
McCrimmon expects to have a better idea of Lehner's timetable when the netminder rejoins the Golden Knights soon. He said that the team hasn't been working with Lehner on a day-to-day basis this offseason. Lehner had shoulder surgery in early May.
Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon said he doesn't expect Robin Lehner to have a timeline for a return until about a month into rehab.
Lehner's shoulder surgery went well, per McCrimmon. A team spokesperson reported, a couple of weeks ago that the surgery for the 30-year-old netminder was a success.
Robin Lehner underwent successful shoulder surgery Wednesday.
Lehner suffered the shoulder injury on Feb. 9 and tried to battle through the injury but finally had to call it a season. There is no timetable for his recovery at this time but one should be available shortly. He ended the season with a 23-17-2 record to go with a 2.83 GAA and a .907 save percentage. He should be better next season as well as the Golden Knights who missed the post-season for the first time in 2021-22.
Robin Lehner will undergo shoulder surgery and he will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season.
Lehner tried to battle through the injury, which he sustained February 9, and the team was hopeful that rest and rehab would allow him to complete the season. He had been absent from practices for maintenance purposes last week amid reports that he was going to have season-ending surgery. Lehner was in the lineup as the backup netminder on Sunday, but now Jiri Petera will rejoin the team to serve as Logan Thompson's understudy.
