Miro Heiskanen had a goal and two assists to lead Finland to a 4-3 victory over the United States in World Championship semi-final action.
Heiskanen was outstanding in leading the Finns to the home ice win as they will face the winner of Canada-Czechia for the Gold Medal Sunday. Joel Armia and Sami Vatanen each had a goal and an assist while Sakari Manninen also scored. Adam Gaudette, Sean Farrell and Nate Schmidt replied for the Americans who will play the loser of the Canada-Czechia contest for the Bronze.
Miro Heiskanen scored the game-winning goal for Dallas in Friday's 4-2 victory over Calgary in Game 6.
Heiskanen broke a 2-2 tie at the 17:32 mark of the second period after the Flames stormed back from a 2-0 deficit. He seized back the momentum for the Stars going into the third period and they kept Calgary at bay to force Game 7 on Sunday night. Heiskanen also had three shots, two hits and two blocks in the match.
Coach Rick Bowness was thrilled with the performance of Miro Heiskanen on Saturday in Game 3 against Calgary.
"I thought that was his best game for a while, skating with the puck, hanging onto the puck," Bowness said. "That's the Miro we need to see." Heiskanen filled the stat sheet with two assists, four shots, two hits and two blocked shots in a game-high 26:08 of ice time.
Miro Heiskanen had a pair of assists Saturday in the Stars 4-2 win in Game 3.
The defenseman has had a tough go of it this season as he contracted mononucleosis which really hampered his season. It was his first two points of the season as he managed four shots on goal. Toss this regular season out as far as his fantasy value is concerned and do not be afraid to take him as a top-15 defenseman next season.
