Barzal registered both primary assists on power play goals by Brock Nelson (1-0) and Anders Lee (2-0) in the opening period. He also helped set up Josh Bailey’s goal in the third. The Isles forward has picked up at least one point in five of his last six outings. The 24-year-old has 15 goals and 43 assists in 72 games this season. The Islanders have been a lot better since the All-Star break, but they simply didn’t have enough time to make up the ground they lost in the first half of the season. 

Barzal grabbed Toronto's Mitch Marner when he was on bench and the Leafs forward was on the ice during Sunday's game. He didn't receive a penalty on the play.

Barzal took a feed from Oliver Wahlstrom and showed some incredible patience to bring the puck in tight before slipping it by Igor Shesterkin. The goal brings Barzal to the 300-career point mark. The 24-year-old forward has six points over his last three games, bringing him to 14 goals and 48 points in 58 games this season.

Barzal got his night started by setting up Oliver Wahlstrom for his 13th goal of the season at the 8:50 mark of the opening frame, just 11 seconds after Sebastian Aho opened the scoring. Barzal also put the puck in the back of the net in the third period which served as the dagger that put the game out of reach for the Blue Jackets. The 24-year-old finished the game with a plus-2 rating, and two shots on goal in 16:17 of ice-time. Barzal has 13 goals and 46 points through 57 games this season.
