Mark Stone had a successful lumbar discectomy on Thursday and he is expected to be ready for the 2022-23 season.
A team spokesperson announced on Wednesday that Stone would have back surgery after Vegas GM Kelly McCrimmon said earlier this week that the Golden Knights forward was likely have a procedure. Stone was limited to just 37 games during the 2021-22 season and he posted 30 points.

"It appears quite likely that Mark Stone will have back surgery on Wednesday," said McCrimmon on Monday. He added that Stone still needs to have a few consultations with doctors, but a procedure appears to be probable. McCrimmon also said that he expects Stone to be ready for training camp.
Mark Stone's return on Tuesday was less than ideal.
Stone had a minus-one rating and three shots in 17:17 minutes of ice time in Vegas' 5-4 overtime loss to Vancouver. “Can’t say I felt very good,” Stone said. “I just tried to do what I could to try and help the team.” It was Stone's first game in about two months, so he might need some time to get back into the swing of things.
