Kevan Miller of the Boston Bruins has announced his retirement
Miller said on Instagram that he was retiring due to health and family reasons. The 33-year-old defenseman was not an offensive threat as he managed only 13 goals in 352 career games but was solid defensively. Miller had a goal and three assists in 28 games in 2020-21. We wish him the best in retirement.
Kevan Miller said Friday that he likely would have been available to play in Game 7 had Boston's second round series lasted longer.
The Bruins were eliminated in Game 6 on Wednesday by the New York Islanders. Miller had been sidelined since May 21 due to an upper-body injury. He skated in four postseason matches after he was limited to 28 appearances during the regular season. Miller will get some additional time to recover now in order to be ready for next season. He is pending unrestricted free agent.
Kevan Miller (upper body) has been ruled out for Game 6.
Miller won't be traveling with the Bruins to New York for the contest. He hasn't been in the lineup since May 21.
Kevan Miller (upper body) won't play Monday in Game 5 against the New York Islanders.
Miller skated again on Monday after practice, but he isn't ready to return yet. It is unclear at this time if he will available to play on Wednesday in Game 6 either.
