Jordan Binnington will not need knee surgery.
Binnington was injured in Game 3 of the second round and couldn't play for the remainder of the series. He was fantastic in the playoffs up to that point with a 1.72 GAA and .949 save percentage in six starts.
Jordan Binnington (lower body) won't be available for the remainder of St. Louis' second-round series against Colorado.
Binnington suffered a lower-body injury in Game 3 against the Avalanche on Saturday night. The Blues have brought up Charlie Lindgren from the minors on an emergency basis to serve as Ville Husso's understudy. He could be ready for the next round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs if the Blues advance past Colorado.
The Athletic is reporting that Jordan Binnington (knee) could be out for weeks.
Binnington left Saturday's game in the opening period after a collision with Colorado's Nazem Kadri as well as his own teammate Calle Rosen. While Colorado coach Jared Bednar thought the play was legal as Kadri and Rosen were chasing the puck, St. Louis coach Craig Berube disagreed. "Look at Kadri’s reputation, that’s all I’ve got to say," Berube said, citing Kadri's past suspensions in the playoffs. Game 4 is Monday in St. Louis and expect to see Ville Husso in the Blues cage.
Jordan Binnington is being evaluated for a lower-body injury, per coach Craig Berube.
Berube was not happy with the first-period collision that injured Binnington. Colorado's Nazem Kadri and Blues defender Calle Rosen both fell into Binnington, forcing him to leave the game. Binnington wasn't pleased with Kadri either and apparently tossed a water bottle at the Avalanche forward following the game. Drama aside, it would be a big loss for St. Louis if Binnington isn't available to play in Game 4 on Monday. He has a 4-1 record this postseason with a 1.72 goals-against average and .949 save percentage.
