Vrana is up to 13 goals and 18 points in 23 games. Michael Rasmussen also found the back of the net for the Red Wings. Tyler Bertuzzi, Moritz Seider, and Danny DeKeyser each registered an assist.

Vrana scored his first goal against Lightning star Andrei Vasilevskiy a little over six minutes into the second period. His second goal proved to be the pivotal one in the contest, though, coming unassisted with under 15 minutes remaining in regulation. That goal snapped a 3-3 tie and provided Detroit's narrow margin of victory. Overall this season, Vrana has turned in 12 goals and 17 points in 21 games played. He needed a lengthy recovery from fall shoulder surgery, hence the greatly pared-down number of games played.

Vrana scored an unassisted goal against Elvis Merzlikins with under seven minutes remaining in the second period, but his biggest moment of the game would not come until later. With under five to play in regulation, he notched a game-tying goal against Merzlikins to ultimately force overtime, though the Red Wings would be unable to pull out an end victory. Overall this season, Vrana has now tallied 10 goals and 14 points in 16 games played. Fall shoulder surgery and its subsequent recovery took a significant chunk of time out of his 2021-22 season.

Vrana made his presence felt with an assist on Filip Zadina's goal midway through the second period. He later posted a third-period goal against Jeremy Swayman which pushed Detroit to a relatively comfortable 4-2 lead. In 14 games played during the 2021-22 campaign -- he was out for the season until March 10 while rehabbing from fall shoulder surgery -- Vrana has now logged eight goals and 12 points.
