Coach Jared Bednar said on Saturday that Compher was "checked out" following Colorado's loss to Tampa Bay in Game 5 on Friday, but he expects the Avalanche forward to be available to play. Compher was on the ice for Sunday's morning skate. 

Compher had the secondary helper on Andre Burakovsky's game winner, which came just 1:23 into the extra period. He was also credited with four shots and two blocks in the match. Compher, who centered the second line on Wednesday night, has five goals, eight points, 20 shots, 13 blocks and 13 hits in 15 contests this postseason. 

Compher logged some time as the second-line center of the Avalanche in Game 3 after Nazem Kadri was injured. Mikko Ratanen shifted to the middle for Game 4 of the Western Conference Final. Compher skated between Rantanen and Andre Burakovsky during Friday's session, but that doesn't necessarily mean he will start the Stanley Cup Final in that spot. He has five goals, two assists, 16 shots, 11 blocks and 13 hits in 14 games this postseason. 

The Oilers looked for all the world like they might pull out a win in Game 3 after Ryan McLeod scored seven-plus minutes into the third period to tie the game at 2-2 while sending a jolt of energy into the crowd. Minutes later, though, Compher scored a go-ahead goal against Mike Smith to silence the crowd, setting the Avalanche up for the potential (and eventual) win. After a quiet start to the postseason, Compher has picked it up with three goals in the WCF to give him five for the playoffs.
