The Philadelphia Flyers are reportedly trying to trade Ivan Provorov.
Provorov had nine goals and 31 points in 79 contests while averaging 24:53 minutes last season. The Flyers have leaned heavily on him since he broke into the NHL. He does come with a $6.75 million cap hit for each of the next three seasons, which might scare off some teams, but he's talented enough that there should be a deal to be made here. The bigger question isn't if the Flyers can trade him, it's if they can get a return that they deem acceptable. Philadelphia's cap situation isn't great after inking Tony DeAngelo to a two-year, $10 million deal, so they might be motivated sellers.
Ivan Provorov picked up one goal and one assist during Thursday’s 6-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens.
Provorov gave the Flyers a 2-0 advantage at the 14:29 mark of the first period and he added an assist on Travis Konecny’s tally in the second frame to make it 4-2. Like all the Flyers this season, the 25-year-old has had a bit of a down year. He’s up to nine goals and 28 points in 74 games this season. Expect him to bounce back in a big way next season assuming the Flyers give him more help.
Ivan Provorov scored a goal in Saturday's 5-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks.
Provorov did his darnedest to try to keep the Flyers in this game, working a game-tying goal against Anthony Stolarz just shy of 16 minutes remaining in regulation. Anaheim would end up scoring the final two goals of the game, though, despite Provorov's efforts. On the whole this season, the 25-year-old defenseman has now tallied eight goals and 25 points across 69 games played.
Ivan Provorov tallied three points via two goals and an assist in Saturday's 6-3 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Provorov had a hand in all three of Philly's goals on the evening, dishing out an assist on Kevin Hayes' goal early in the second period before going on to score one of his own against Jack Campbell later in the stanza. He would repeat the scoring feat once more in the third period. On the whole this season, Provorov has now hit on seven goals and 23 points in 65 games played. Nice showing on Saturday, but he does not provide enough statistical weight to warrant fantasy consideration in most formats.
