Barbashev assisted on Jordan Kyrou's second-period goal before putting in one of his own against John Gibson later in the period. He would top off his night assisting on Marco Scandella's goal five-plus minutes into the third period. That Scandella goal put the Blues up 6-2 and essentially erased any realistic chance of an Anaheim comeback. On the whole this season, Barbashev has rung up 26 goals and 60 points across 79 games played. He has now scored goals in back-to-back contests after going through a little three-game goalless skid.

The Blues went down 2-0 in the middle of the second period after Pens defender Mike Matheson scored. But Barbashev picked up the primary helper on David Perron's goal a few minutes later (2-1) and he added one of his own early in the third frame. Unfortunately for the Blues, Bryan Rust scored in the shootout to give his team the win. Barbashev has 19 goals and 44 points in 59 games. Those are impressive totals for him. He's on the verge of hitting the 20-goal mark for the first time in his NHL career. 

Barbashev was on the ice Thursday morning for a light skate and coach Craig Berube expects him to be in the lineup. The Blues forward blocked a shot with his right skate on Tuesday versus Ottawa. Barbashev has broken out in 2021-22 with 15 goals, 34 points, 77 shots and 81 hits through 46 matches. 

It happened with only .7 seconds left in the middle stanza. Barbashev is having a breakout season with 28 points in 34 games, a career best. He is worth a pickup if available in your pool.
