Dylan Larkin is eligible to sign a contract extension with Detroit on July 13.
Larkin has one more season left on his five-year, $30.5 million contract. Detroit GM Steve Yzerman met last week with Larkin's new CAA reps. It is believed that talks have been preliminary, which isn't surprising, but both sides have expressed interest in getting something done this summer.
Dylan Larkin said that his core muscle surgery was a success and that he will be able to train in the summer and be ready for training camp in September.
That is great news for Detroit fans as Larkin was having a great season until the injury slowed him down late in the season. Larkin had 31 goals and 69 points in 71 games with 212 shots on goal. He should be a middle round pick in most pools next season.
