Denis Gurianov has inked a one-year, $2.9 million contract extension with the Dallas Stars.
Gurianov ultimately agreed to what would have been the Stars' qualifying offer. He had 11 goals and 31 points in 73 contests, which is a step down from his 2020-21 campaign in terms of points-per-game. Inconsistency was a problem for him and Gurianov hopes to work on his 1-on-1 battles in the corner as well as learn when he has a little time to breathe and can handle the puck more. The Stars will also have a new coaching staff next season, so that will give him a chance to reset.
Denis Gurianov won't be in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Flames.
The reason is unclear at this point, but all we know is that he and Alexander Radulov will sit this one out. He has 11 goals and 30 points in 69 games this season.
Denis Gurianov will be back in the lineup on Sunday against Chicago.
Gurianov was a healthy scratch on Saturday after he missed two games due to an illness. He will replace Marian Studenic in the lineup.
Denis Gurianov was a healthy scratch Saturday afternoon.
Gurianov missed Thursday's contest due to an illness. When Gurianov was held out of the lineup on Saturday too it was initially assumed that it was because of the disease, but apparently he was an option to play and coach Rick Bowness simply opted not to use him.
