Bryan Little
Player News
The Arizona Coyotes have picked up the contract of Bryan Little (ear) from the Winnipeg Jets.
The Coyotes will likely never see Little play again as he has been out since Nov. 5, 2019 when he got hit in the head by a shot from teammate Nikolaj Ehlers, perforating his eardrum and giving him vertigo symptoms. He still has two seasons after this one with a cap hit of $5,291,666 to help Arizona reach the floor. Nathan Smith comes Arizona's way as well with the Jets getting a fourth round pick in return.
Bryan Little will start the season on the long-term injured reserve list.
This move was unfortunately expected. Little didn't play in 2020-21 and it's not clear when or if he'll make his return. He suffered a perforated eardrum and vertigo symptoms.
Bryan Little is still unavailable for the Winnipeg Jets, per GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.
Little's six-year, $31.75 million contract runs through 2023-24, but it is unclear if he will be given the green light to return. Doctors recommended that the 33-year-old forward not play in 2020-21 and he spent the entire campaign on long-term injured reserve. Cheveldayoff isn't sure if Little considers himself as retired, but "there are no medical opinions that say that he should play." Little was struck by the puck on Nov. 5, 2019. He suffered a perforated eardrum and vertigo symptoms.
Bryan Little's status has remained unchanged since the start of the season.
Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff said back in October that doctors recommended that he not play in the 2020-21 campaign. Cheveldayoff was asked if there was anything new regarding Little's recovery and unfortunately it seems there isn't. "Nothing really to update on that. As of right now, that process is still status quo. He's in Ontario and no update to give you there," Cheveldayoff said. Little's six-year, $31.75 million contract runs through 2023-24. Winnipeg has him on the long-term injured reserve list.
