Brian Boyle underwent successful knee surgery on Monday.
Boyle's expected recovery time is set for six weeks. He didn't play in Game 7 on Sunday against the New York Rangers after he was injured on May 13. Boyle had been listed as week-to-week.
Brian Boyle is week-to-week because of a lower-body injury, per coach Mike Sullivan.
Boyle was injured early in Game 6 on Friday and he won't be available to play in Game 7 on Sunday against the New York Rangers. This update on his status probably means he won't be available for the start of Round 2 should the Penguins advance.
Brian Boyle (lower body) is still being evaluated, per coach Mike Sullivan.
Sullivan was unable to provide an update on Boyle's status as a result. The Penguins forward left Friday's contest against the New York Rangers early in the first period.
Brian Boyle left Friday's Game 6 matchup against the New York Rangers because of a lower-body injury.
"He's being evaluated for a lower-body injury. That's tough because he's a good penalty killer for us," said coach Mike Sullivan following the contest. "These games are hard. They are physical. When you go to 11 forwards that early on the game, it places a physical burden on the rest of the group." Boyle's availability is uncertain at this time for Game 7 on Sunday.
