Andrej Sekera has decided to end his playing career.
Sekera played in 842 NHL games spread out over his tenures with the Buffalo Sabres, Carolina Hurricanes, Los Angeles Kings, Edmonton Oilers, and Dallas Stars. He had 51 goals and 253 points over his career while averaging 19:56 minutes. At his height in 2013-14 with Carolina, he scored 11 goals and 44 points in 74 contests while averaging 23:41 minutes.
Andrej Sekera will be a healthy scratch during Friday's game against the Anaheim Ducks.
He's watched from the press box a lot this season. Sekera has four points in 32 games this season. Jacob Peterson, Marian Studenic and Fredrik Karlstrom will also be healthy scratched.
The Dallas Stars won't dress Andrej Sekera on Wednesday night against the Arizona Coyotes.
The Stars are a single point away from clinching a spot in the playoffs. This will be the fifth straight game for Sekera in the press box. Joel Hanley, Joel Kiviranta, Fredrik Karlstrom and Marian Studenic will also be scratched.

Sekera has been a frequent scratch of late, getting left aside in eight of his last nine games. He won't get to dress against his former club and will sit in the press box alongside Joel Kiviranta and Fredrik Karlstrom will also be scratched.
