Pietrangelo did the whole of his work in the back half of this contest, assisting on Mattias Janmark's goal near the end of the second period before later putting in one of his own with time winding down in the third period. On the whole this season, Pietrangelo has notched 10 goals and 35 points over the course of 62 games played. The veteran defenseman has been a steady contributor throughout his NHL career, but he lacks for real fantasy value.

The other skaters in the competition will be Minnesota's Kirill Kaprizov, Anaheim's Trevor Zegras, New Jersey's Jack Hughes and Chicago's Alex DeBrincat. The goaltenders will be Manon Rheaume and Wyatt Russell. 

Pietrangelo took a pass from Jonathan Marchessault while on a two-man advantage, out-waited Morgan Reilly, and snapped a beautiful shot past Jack Campbell to tie the game (3-3) over midway through the third period. Pietrangelo played a massive role in the contest for the Golden Knights as he finished the game with a minus-1 rating, six shots on goal, two blocks, and a hit in 32:55 of ice time. The 31-year-old has six goals and 24 points through 37 games.

Pietrangelo missed two games after he went into COVID protocol on Dec. 21, but it appears as though he could return to the lineup on Friday afternoon against Anaheim. He has accounted for five goals, 22 points, 85 shots, 69 blocks and 26 hits in 31 games this year. Evgenii Dadonov was also back on the ice for practice on Thursday after clearing COVID-19 protocol.
