2024 Player Outlook

If the name sounds familiar, it should - Luke is the brother of mega-star running back Christian McCaffrey and son of former Broncos wide receiver Ed McCaffrey. Luke starting his college career as a quarterback at Nebraska and then Rice before transitioning to wide receiver. In his fifth year of college, he did have 71 receptions for 992 yards and 13 touchdowns. We are typically skeptical of "late breakouts" but we can give LMC a little leeway with him having to learn a new position. And there have been some quarterback to pass-catcher transitions that have worked out at the NFL level - notably, guys like Julian Edelman and Logan Thomas. You combine the athleticism, the pedigree, the third round draft capital, and the new regime in Washington, and a picture can be painted for Luke McCaffrey to have some upside. You know he'll have some guidance from big brother on how to handle yourself as a professional football player.
