2024 Player Outlook

Malachi Corley was a reception machine at Western Kentucky - in his third season he actually registered over 100 receptions. A huge number of those were shorter targets as, per Pro Football Focus, 38% of Corley's targets came behind the line of scrimmage. In fact, 44.3% of his targets in general were screens which is the most of any receiver in college. So it seems pretty clear to us what the New York Jets had in mind when selecting Corley in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft. They have Garrett Wilson and Mike Williams on the outside so, in an ideal world, Corley becomes their slot wide receiver where he can chop things up for the Jets underneath. Big YAC numbers in college helped boost his overall production numbers so hopefully that translates to the next level.
