Isaiah Davis had ten rushes for 40 yards and a touchdown in the Jets’ Week 14 loss against the Dolphins, adding three catches for 27 yards.
Davis scored the Jets’ lone rushing touchdown and split the backfield with Braelon Allen with Breece Hall (knee) sidelined. Davis and Allen each logged 22 pass routes on the day. Davis — who scored a touchdown in Week 13 against Seattle — appeared far more explosive and quick than the lumbering Allen, and could see even more work in Week 15 against the Jaguars if Hall remains out.
Isaiah Davis caught 3-of-3 targets for 28 yards and a touchdown in the Jets’ Week 13 loss to the Seahawks, adding a four-yard carry.
Jets selected South Dakota State RB Isaiah Davis with the No. 173 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Coming out of South Dakota State, Davis (6’0/218) is a powerful runner with over 4,500 career college rushing yards. He missed time due to injury as a sophomore but recovered to play 29 combined games his junior and senior years, rushing for over 1,400 yards and at least 15 touchdowns each season while helping SDSU to back-to-back FCS championships. His best combine showing was at the bench press, totaling 23 reps to rank top-five amongst running backs. Davis struggles with decisiveness in his runs, but his physicality makes up for it as he shakes defenders with an imposing frame. He can be a power back with some three-down ability if he can develop as a pass-catcher. He will be competing with fellow rookie Braelon Allen and second-year back Israel Abanikanda for the Jets’ backup job in 2024.
