According to Stapleton, DeVito will sign his ERFA tender over the weekend, making DeVito the first quarterback to be rostered by the Giants for the start of the 2025 season. DeVito has thrown for 1,358-8-3 in two seasons with the Giants but played on just 91 offensive snaps last season. He’ll have a chance to compete for the backup quarterback job in camp, but is more likely to serve as an emergency QB3 in most weeks.

DeVito cleared protocol and will back up Drew Lock as the NFL’s worst quarterback room tries to make it through the last three weeks of the season.

DeVito was driven head first into the turf just before halftime and will not return for the second half. That leaves journeyman Tim Boyle as New York’s starter for the rest of the ballgame, with Drew Lock (heel) behind him as the emergency No. 3 quarterback. DeVito will likely have to clear the league’s concussion protocol this week if he’s going to play in Week 16.

Giants head coach Brian Daboll said Drew Lock was in a walking boot and would miss at least one game, putting DeVito back under center for Week 15. In his lone 2024 start, DeVito completed 21-of-31 pass attempts for 189 scoreless yards and was sacked four times against the Bucs. DeVito’s primary job against the Ravens will be to funnel targets to Malik Nabers against one of the worst secondaries in the NFL.
