2024 Player Outlook
Sixth round picks usually don't get much of an opportunity at the NFL level, especially in their rookie season. But yet another injury to Michael Thomas threw Perry into an outside role for the Saints last year where he started a few games at split end. The new offense that Klint Kubiak is bringing over from San Francisco is expected to utilize a fullback which typically limits the snaps for the WR3. Chris Olave is locked into one role so it will be Perry vs. Rashid Shaheed vs. Cedrick Wilson to see who can be the other full-time wide receiver. With Perry's size at 6'5", he could serve as a red zone threat - he did score 4 touchdowns in the 8 games where he played meaningful snaps. But it will be hard to beat out the likes of the speedy Rashid or even Wilson, who knows this scheme from his time in Miami.

Broncos signed WR A.T. Perry, formerly of the Saints, to their practice squad.
The Saints waived Perry last week after dealing with a hand injury and being a healthy scratch to start the season. The former sixth-round pick totaled 12 catches for 246 yards and four touchdowns as a rookie but did not seem to have a role on the 2024 Saints. The Broncos now add him to their practice squad and the big target could get added to Bo Nix’s arsenal at some point.
Saints waived WR A.T. Perry.
Perry turned some heads as a rookie with a few big plays late in the season. He finished the year with 12 receptions for 246 yards and four scores. Perry missed the start of his second season with a hand injury and never managed to find a role after recovering. He has been a healthy scratch in recent weeks. Perry could get claimed by a team looking for a dart throw at wide receiver.
Saints WR AT Perry (hand) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 2 against the Cowboys.
Perry missed Week 1 with the hand issue but got in a full week of practices ahead of the Saints’ matchup with the Cowboys. He will likely start the year behind veteran receiver Cedrick Wilson on the depth chart.
Saints declared WR A.T. Perry, QB Spencer Rattler, DT Khalen Saunders, LB D’Marco Jackson, LB Jaylan Ford, TE Dallin Holker, and DT John Ridgeway III inactive for Week 1 against the Panthers.
Perry missed all three practices this week because of the hand injury. Veteran receiver Cedrick Wilson had been playing ahead of him as the team’s WR3 in camp, so this doesn’t change much for the Saints. Rasheed Shahid and Chris Olave are the only Saints receivers worth rostering heading into Week 1.
