2024 Player Outlook
Alvin Kamara was suspended to start the 2023 season which left the door open for rookie Kendre Miller to potentially carve out and maintain a role. Unfortunately, Miller missed a chunk of preseason with a knee issue then the first two games with a pulled hamstring. He returned Week 3 but suffered an ankle injury Week 9 that kept him out until the final week of the season (where he had a solid performance with 73 yards on 13 carries and a touchdown). As long as Alvin Kamara is with the team, the primary pass work belongs to him but Miller could battle Jamaal Williams and Taysom Hill for the short yardage work. New OC's Klint Kubiak's scheme that he's bringing over from San Francisco is incredibly friendly to the running game - not only did they add the fullback but they used their first round pick on a left tackle. Kendre Miller could find himself in "handcuff plus" territory where he has standalone value with big upside if something were to happen to Kamara.
