Chiefs signed EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzomah to a four-year contract.
The Chiefs selected Anudike-Uzomah with the No. 31 overall pick in the draft, adding to a defense that finished second in the league in sacks last season (55). Anudike-Uzomah totaled 19.5 sacks in his final two years at Kansas State and posted an impressive 8.73 RAS during the pre-draft process. A high-motor rusher off the EDGE, Anudike-Uzomah could slot in as a starter at some point in the season, but should immediately see the field as a situational pass rusher.
Chiefs HC Andy Reid said EDGE Felix Anudike-Uzomah underwent thumb surgery before the draft and could be back by OTAs.
At worst, this should be a minor issue for Anudike-Uzomah, who the Chiefs selected with the No. 31 overall pick in this year's draft. The former Kansas State EDGE rusher totaled 19.5 sacks in his final two seasons with the Wildcats and is expected to immediately contribute for the Chiefs this season. Unless this injury lingers further into the offseason, this is likely the last time we'll talk about it.
