Bills waived TE Armani Rogers.
This is unfortunate. Rogers recently ruptured his Achilles tendon for the second time in three years. He showed promise as a 2022 rookie, earning a 65.3 PFF receiving grade and a 68.0 PFF run-blocking grade, but the injuries are taking their toll. The Bills also released DT Branson Deen.

The Bills recently signed Rodgers to a reserve/futures deal, but the youngster will now miss significant time as he rehabilitates a torn Achilles suffered during an offseason workout program. Rodgers will undergo surgery to repair the torn ligament with an initial timetable for recovery currently unknown.

Rogers’ NFL career includes stints with the Commanders, Eagles and Falcons. He also notably suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in May 2023. He now gets a chance to carve out a backup role with the Bills.

Rogers is expected to undergo surgery next week but is out indefinitely. Expected to battle for a spot in training camp behind Logan Thomas, this is a tough blow for Rogers, who converted to tight end upon entering the NFL Draft last offseason. It's possible he'll return at some point late in the season, but that feels like the best case scenario.
