Cowboys CB DaRon Bland (foot) was removed from the injury report and will play in Week 12 against the Commanders.
Bland earned first-team All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors last season and while the 3-7 Cowboys are unlikely to turn their 2024 season around, Bland gets an important opportunity to knock off rust over the final seven games. Hopefully, he is able to make his presence felt in a triumphant return against the Cowboys’ divisional foe.
Cowboys CB DaRon Bland (foot) practiced in full on Wednesday.
Bland has not yet suited up in 2024 but his full practice participation early in the week is a significantly positive step. While the 3-7 Cowboys’ season is largely lost, the Cowboys’ defense could pose problems for fantasy managers down the stretch. The talented, young CB is on track to play in Week 12.
Cowboys declared CB Daron Bland, WR Jalen Brooks, LB Damone Clark, DE K.J. Henry, CB Jourdan Lewis, FB Hunter Luepke, and OT Matt Waletzko inactive for Week 11 against the Texans.
Now playing without their franchise quarterback, the Cowboys will be even more shorthanded with two key injuries in the secondary. Bland was designated for return but failed to practice this week, indicating there could have been some sort of setback in his rehab.
Cowboys CB DaRon Bland (foot) will not play in Week 9 against the Falcons.
Bland was removed from injured reserve earlier this week but did not return to practice. He appears to have suffered a setback after being designated to return from injured reserve, forcing the Cowboys to activate him regardless of his Week 9 availability. Bland is currently considered week-to-week, as is EDGE Micah Parsons.
