Seahawks LB Boye Mafe (knee) is questionable for Week 5 against the Giants.
Seahawks S Julian Love (thigh) is also questionable, though multiple defenders appear ready to return. LB Jerome Baker (hamstring), LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee), EDGE Leonard Williams (ribs) and LB Derick Hall (hip) enter the game without injury designations.
Seahawks declared LB Uchenna Nwosu, LB Jerome Baker, LB Boye Mafe, G Sataoa Laumea, T Michael Jerrell, DT Byron Murphy, and DE Leonard Williams inactive for Week 4 against the Lions.
The linebacker and defensive line injuries are mounting for the Seahawks, not exactly what you want to see with a game against the elite offensive line of the Lions on tap. The absences mark five typical starters in the front seven now out for Week 4.
Seahawks LB Boye Mafe (knee) is questionable to play in Week 3 against the Dolphins.
Mafe leads Seahawks defenders in both pressures (15) and NFL sacks (2.0) so availability would go a long way toward pressuring the Dolphins Week 3 starting QB Skylar Thompson. Mafe’s Friday practice status has yet to be released but even limited participation would bode positively for his availability. Seahawks No. 3 S K’Von Wallace (shoulder) is also questionable for Week 3.
Seahawks LB Boye Mafe (knee) did not participate in Wednesday’s practice.
Mafe led a lengthy injury report for the Seahawks front seven. He was a new addition with a knee injury and would be a crucial missing part after starting the season with two sacks in two games. LB Uchenna Nwosu (knee) remains out with an MCL sprain while LB Jerome Baker (hamstring) and DE Leonard Williams (knee) also did not participate in practice. The good news is that LB Derick Hall (hip) was limited and LB Tyrel Dodson (shoulder) and DT Jarran Reed (knee) were full participants. It is still early in the week, but Mike Macdonald’s defense hopes to get back key contributors before Week 3 against the Dolphins.
