Funk was forced into second half snaps against Jacksonville after Evan Hull left the game with a knee injury and Deon Jackson struggled mightily as the team’s lead back. Funk could see decent run in Week 2 against the Texans if Hull is sidelined. All of this week’s Colts running backs will be droppable once Jonathan Taylor (ankle) returns from the PUP list in Week 5.

They needed the roster spot in an offensive line rash. He'll likely be with the Rams practice squad if he clears waivers. Funk had two rushes for last year's world champions and could be an interesting claim for an RB-needy team. 

With Tyler Higbee (knee) on injured reserve, it's a quiet list for the biggest game of the year. With Darrell Henderson off injured reserve, Funk's services were no longer needed. The No. 233 overall pick of the draft, Funk ended up remaining on the 53-man roster all year, though he handled the ball just two times during the regular season. Even with Sony Michel headed to free agency, 24-year-old Funk will have to fight to keep his roster spot next summer. 

Funk has a torn hamstring, also known as a strain, though the exact severity of it is unknown after he went down in Week 6 against the Giants. Surgery has been recommended, which will likely end the rookie's season. Funk carried the ball one time for six yards behind Darrell Henderson and Sony Michel.
