Free agent TE Quintin Morris is visiting with the Lions on Tuesday.
Non-tendered by the Bills after three seasons, Morris is a blocking tight end that could challenge Shane Zylstra and Brock Wright for blocking snaps in Detroit. The Bills reportedly had interest in bringing him back at a lower figure than his tender number earlier in March. It’s not surprising that Morris, 26, has drawn outside suitors.
Bills did not tender restricted free agent Quintin Morris, making him a free agent.
Morris has 15 catches for 146 yards in three years with the Bills as (mostly) a blocking tight end. Ian Rapoport reports that the Bills would still like him to return, but didn’t want to pay him up to his tender amount. Morris will get a chance to hear from other suitors now that he’s a free agent.
Quintin Morris caught 3-of-4 targets for 20 yards in the Bills’ Week 18 loss to the Patriots.
The Bills were resting almost all of their starters, so it was Morris who got all the tight end snaps with both Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox on the bench. Morris figures to go back to his bench role for the postseason.
Bills re-signed TE Quintin Morris to a one-year contract.
Morris was an ERFA so his only choice was to come back to the Bills. Buffalo’s TE3 only caught two passes for 26 yards and one touchdown in 2023 but took the field for a whopping 312 special teams snaps. His low receiving output also hides a notable role as a blocker on offense. Morris isn’t a fantasy option for 2024 but remains a versatile real-life option for the Bills.
