Steelers LT Dan Moore (knee) did not practice Wednesday
Moore went down with the knee injury early in Pittsburgh’s Week 4 matchup with the Texans. He was unable to return to the contest. Fellow Pittsburgh linemen Chukwuma Okorafor and James Daniels were also sidelined for the first practice of the week. With Kenny Pickett attempting to play through a knee issue, this is the worst time for Pittsburgh lose multiple offensive linemen.
Steelers selected Texas A&M OT Dan Moore with the No. 128 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft
Moore (6'6/311), a former three-star guard recruit, started for three seasons at left tackle for Texas A&M. The long-time starter finished off his career with second-team All-SEC honors, marking the first time in his career in which he earned all-conference recognition. Moore's game revolves more around finesse than power, which sounds odd for a player who converted from guard. Moore has fairly long arms (34-1/2 inches) and quality movement skills (77th-percentile three-cone), often giving him a leg up early in pass pro situations. However, Moore's anchor leaves something to be desired, as does his strength and violence in the run game. Moore probably needs to be in more of a zone system than a gap scheme that will ask him to wash players down the line. Moore is a backup right now, but could become a starter with some added strength, not unlike Martinas Rankin.
