Ulbrich said the team is hopeful Vera-Tucker can suit up this Sunday against the Jaguars in a meaningless game for both teams. Vera-Tucker could be an important addition to keep Aaron Rodgers upright and force feeding the ball to Garrett Wilson and Davante Adams against a terrible Jags defense.

Vera-Tucker, RG John Simpson (groin) and RT Morgan Moses (knee) all practiced in full on Friday. While Vera-Tucker and Moses are technically questionable, they have good odds of suiting up.

The No. 14 overall pick of the 2021 draft is currently recovering from a torn achilles’ tendon, but he is expected to be ready for Week 1. The versatile lineman is currently penciled in as Gang Green’s right guard.

It was reported early on Monday that the team believed Vera-Tucker had a calf injury and that the obvious signs of a torn Achilles were not there prior to the MRI. Unfortunately, the MRI revealed a torn Achilles for Vera-Tucker, whose season is now over. The third-year lineman had started all five games for the Jets this season and earned a PFF grade of 71.7.
