Colts agreed to terms with S Cam Bynum, formerly of the Vikings, on a four-year, $60 million contract.

Bynum was arguably the most coveted safety on the market and now has a new home in Indy. The former fourth-round pick is fresh off a season in which he forced a career-high five turnovers while also breaking up 10 passes. He should provide immediate help to a Colts defense that was among the worst in the league against the pass in 2024, ranking 26th in total pass yards allowed while ranking 29th in net yards per attempt (6.7).

Vikings declared CB Camryn Bynum, QB Kellen Mond, WR Ihmir Smith-Marsette, CB Harrison Hand, LB Chazz Surratt and OG Wyatt Davis inactive for Week 12 against the 49ers.

Playing weekly snaps for the Vikings' defense, Bynum hurt his ankle in Friday's practice. The No. 125 overall pick of the draft should be considered week to week.

Vikings selected Cal CB Camryn Bynum with the No. 125 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.

Bynum (6'0/200) brings a ton of Power Five experience with him. A four-year contributor and three-year starter, Bynum racked up 28 passes defended and six interceptions during his time at Cal. Bynum was often at his best when jammed up on the line of scrimmage and allowed to bully wide receivers right off the snap. He plays with a tough, strong mentality and has adequate footwork to keep up early in routes. However, Bynum can get a little lost in his transitions and fail to make up ground, which is evidenced by a painfully average 6.98-second three-cone drill. Getting burned down the field can be somewhat of an issue for Bynum, too. There is a reason he functions best as a press cornerback. Look for Bynum to have a career similar to Ahkello Witherspoon.
