Vikings acquired CB Nahshon Wright from the Cowboys in exchange for CB Andrew Booth Jr.
Wright (third round) and Booth (second round) are former, recent Day 2 draft picks. The move provides both players with a fresh start following volatile early-career showings. The strength of Wright’s play has largely been in run defense but he did produce a career-best 0.69 yards allowed per coverage snap last season.
Cowboys CB Nahshon Wright (COVID-19) is out for Week 13 against the Saints.
He's the latest member of the organization to test positive for the virus. Wright has played sparingly in just two games this season.
Cowboys selected Oregon State CB Nahshon Wright with the No. 99 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Wright (6'4/183) was a multi-sport star in high school who had to settle for junior college offers in football. He arrived in Corvallis in 2019 after winning a junior college title in 2018. He picked off five passes across two PAC-12 campaigns, taking advantage of his imposing length against smaller college wideouts. Wright lacks high-end defensive back speed but is a ballhawk who is excellent in the air. Nevertheless, NFL.com's Lance Zierlein has major concerns about Wright's frame, agility and strength. He is a bit of a project whose height will keep him on 53-man rosters as he tries to fill out and improve his functional strength.
