Raiders signed DT Leki Fotu, formerly of the Jets.
Fotu visited with both the Raiders and Bills this offseason before ultimately deciding to join the Raiders. The fifth-year vet was limited to just two games last year due to injuries, but he started nine of the 11 games he appeared in for the Cardinals in 2023, where he recorded 28 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and five TFLs. Fotu is a former fourth-round pick who has 22 starts under his belt. He’ll join a defensive line that is hoping to have last year’s hot free agent, Christian Wilkins, back and healthy following an injury-plagued 2024 season.
Free agent DL Leki Fotu is visiting the Bills, following his visit with the Raiders.
Fotu is just a rotational defensive lineman who is best suited to playing on early downs. He has 57 tackles, 23 quarterback pressures and four sacks in his five-year NFL career. Fotu spent the 2024 season with the Jets after wearing a Cardinals uniform through the four prior seasons.
Jets DL Leki Fotu (knee) did not participate in Tuesday’s practice.
In addition to Fotu, DBs Tony Adams (hamstring) and Ashtyn Davis (concussion) did not practice on Tuesday. The non-participation is a troubling sign that all three defenders will be inactive on a short week against the Texans for Thursday Night Football Week 9.
Jets activated DL Leki Fotu (hamstring) from injured reserve.
Fotu has missed the first four games of the season and will be making his Jets debut. He came over from the Cardinals this offseason as a free agent. Fotu had 2.5 sacks and five TFLs in 11 games for the Cardinals in 2023.
