Jaguars designated DT DaVon Hamilton (back) to return from injured reserve.
This is welcomed news for the Jaguars, who have been without their starting defensive tackle through the first five weeks. Hamilton was signed to a three-year extension this offfseason after setting career-highs in tackles (56), TFLs (5), and sacks (2.5). The team has officially opened his 21-day window for a return and can activate him whenever they feel he is ready.
Jaguars placed DL DaVon Hamilton (back) on injured reserve.
Hamilton will miss at least the next four games with the injury, which is something he’s been dealing with for the last two weeks. A key member along the offensive line, his absence is a slight downgrade for the Jags’ run defense.

Hamilton suffered the injury away from the team. Signed to a three-year extension in April, Hamilton is coming off something of a breakout season under coach Doug Pederson. A two-down run-plugger, Hamilton’s regular season absence would be no small issue.
Jaguars signed DT DaVon Hamilton to a three-year, $34.5 million contract extension.
A third-round pick in 2020, Hamilton is coming off the best year of his career. He set career-highs in tackles (56), TFLs (five), and sacks (2.5). Hamilton also forced and recovered a fumble. After taking a leap in his third season, the Jags chose to reward the all-purpose tackle with a hefty contract that includes $23 million fully guaranteed. Hamilton can tack on $1.5 million through incentives over the course of the deal.
