JaMychal Hasty was inactive for the Patriots’ Week 18 game against the Bills.
Hasty will finish the season with 20 carries for 69 yards while adding 10 catches on 12 targets for 59 yards and a touchdown through the air. This will complete Hasty’s second season in New England, which means he’s now a free agent heading into this offseason. The 28-year-old has just 479 career rushing yards on 121 carries and has returned just 26 kicks in his four seasons, so he faces an uphill battle to make an NFL roster next season.
JaMycal Hasty rushed six times for 20 yards in the Patriots’ Week 10 win over the Bears, adding one reception for four yards.
Hasty was the Patriots’ second running back into the game after Rhamondre Stevenson. He totaled seven touches for 24 yards in a game where the Pats ran more than they threw. Hasty is the team’s pass-catching back, though not much of that skillset was needed against the Bears. While Hasty is more the complementary back to Stevenson, Antonio Gibson is more of the direct backup, rushing five times for 26 yards; Gibson carried the ball mostly in the closing minutes of the game.
Jamycal Hasty caught all five of his targets for 49 yards and a touchdown in the Patriots’ Week 7 loss to the Jaguars.
Hasty lost two yards on his two rush attempts. Antonio Gibson went down with a lower-body injury on the Pats’ first drive. Hasty took over his work on passing downs and scored a 16-yard receiving touchdown to cap the drive. Gibson returned on the next drive but barely played after the injury. Rhamondre Stevenson was playing through an injury of his own, forcing the Pats to use Hasty more than expected. With Stevenson’s role likely to grow as he gets healthier, Hasty isn’t worth stashing in most fantasy formats.
Jaguars declared RB JaMycal Hasty, WR Parker Washington, WR Elijah Cooks, and S Antonio Johnson inactive for Week 2 against the Chiefs.
Hasty will continue to be a healthy scratch as long as Travis Etienne and Tank Bigsby are healthy. Bigbsy is the clear RB2 in Jacksonville and is a solid handcuff to stash in deeper leagues.
