Bills agreed to terms with RB Darrynton Evans, formerly of the Bears.
Evans has bounced around the league as of late, most recently playing for the Bears. He appeared in five games, rushing three times for three yards. This isn’t Evans’ first stint with the Bills. It isn’t even his second. He spent training camp in Buffalo in 2023 and was with the team for the entire offseason last year before the team placed him on injured reserve ahead of Week 1. He was cut later in the season. Evans’ return could mean the end of pass-catching specialist Ty Johnson. The two have similar skill sets and Johnson is an impending free agent.
Dolphins elevated RB Darrynton Evans to the active roster for Week 12.
Evans previously played for the Bears this season, making his way to the Dolphins practice squad before getting elevated prior to the team’s Friday Week 12 game against the Jets. With Salvon Ahmed going on injured reserve and De’Von Achane still nursing a knee injury, Evans will rotate in as the change-of-pace back for the Dolphins. While he isn’t on fantasy radars, expect Evans to spell Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson on passing plays.
Darrynton Evans rushed once for two yards in the Bears’ Week 9 loss to the Saints, adding two receptions for 19 additional yards.
Evans operated as the Bears’ second running back, seeing his touches in the first half against the Saints. He showed some burst on a 17-yard first quarter game, but was seldom used behind D’Onta Foreman. With Khalil Herbert returning soon and Roschon Johnson still in the mix, Evans does not have much fantasy appeal moving forward.
Darrynton Evans rushed four times for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Bears’ Week 8 loss to the Chargers, adding 22 yards on three receptions.
Evans mixed in throughout the evening, scoring from 11 yards out near the end of the first half. The Bears continued to utilize a split backfield in the absence of Khalil Herbert, this time shared amongst Evans, D’Onta Foreman, and Roschon Johnson. There doesn’t appear to be any fantasy appeal as long as three backs are seeing work for the Bears.
