Texans signed CB D’Angelo Ross to their active roster.
The 27-year-old cornerback had been on the practice squad, but when the Texans placed TE Brevin Jordan on the IR, a spot opened up on the 53-man roster for Ross. Ross was a practice squad elevation on Sunday against the Bears and played on 83 percent of the team’s special team’s snaps, so that will be his primary function in Houston.
Ross (undisclosed) went unclaimed on waivers and will now revert to the Patriots' injured reserve, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.
It is unclear what injury Ross, an undrafted free agent out of New Mexico, is dealing with. He will now be forced to look ahead to the 2020 season unless both he and the Patriots can reach an injury settlement once his health allows it.
The Patriots placed Ross (undisclosed) on the waived/injured list Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.
It remains to be seen what sort of injury Ross, who was impressing in training camp, is dealing with. The undrafted rookie out of New Mexico will revert to New England's injured reserve list for the season assuming he clears waivers.
