Giants signed WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey, formerly of the Broncos, to a one-year contract.
Humphrey is a six-year pro who has spent all but one of his professional seasons with Sean Payton. Now, the former UDFA will leave the comfort of Payton for Big Blue in hopes of securing a meaningful role in an offense that is short on receiver talent behind Malik Nabers and Wan’Dale Robinson. Humphrey posted career highs in receptions (31) and receiving yards (293) last season while also running the most routes (290) of his career. He’ll likely settle in as depth at wideout if he makes the roster. This signing doesn’t move the fantasy needle in any way.
Lil’Jordan Humphrey exited Week 18 against the Chiefs after suffering an apparent leg injury.
Humphrey seemingly twisted an ankle via an eversion mechanism during a tackle. He left the field under his own power afterward, heading into the blue medical tent. The big-bodied wide receiver is a capable contributor but the Broncos offense should continue to function effectively even if he is unable to return.
Lil’Jordan Humphrey caught 4-of-5 targets for 50 yards in a Week 2 loss to the Steelers.
Almost all of his production came on the final two drives with the Steelers playing essentially prevent defense. Humphrey was used over the middle of the field in intermediate routes kind of like a tight end would, which led to some chunk yardage at the end of the game. It’s not a role that seemed poised for weekly value.
Broncos elevated WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey and FB Michael Burton for Week 1 against the Seahawks.
Humphrey has experience in head coach Sean Payton’s system while Burton likely gets the elevation to serve as the starting fullback in Sean Payton’s offense. Neither is worthy of fantasy consideration for opening weekend.
