Cardinals re-signed DE L.J. Collier to a one-year contract.
Collier is a former first-round pick of the Seahawks, spending four seasons in Seattle before joining the Cardinals in 2023. Playing 17 games last season, Collier started 15 of them and tallied 3.5 sacks - a single-season career-high for him. The 29-year-old now returns to Arizona as a rotational defensive end.
Cardinals DE L.J. Collier exited Week 9 against the Bears with a leg injury.
Collier was seen speedily hopping off of the field on one leg, valiantly doing his part to keep Jonathan Gannon from having to use a timeout. Collier immediately began working with the training staff as soon as he got to the sideline. The team has not yet released an official status but it is safe to assume he is questionable to return.
Cardinals re-signed EDGE LJ Collier to a one-year contract.
The former first-round pick spent four years in Seattle before joining the Cardinals on a one-year deal last offseason. Per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Collier had a strong showing in camp. He didn’t get to carry that momentum into the season as a bicep injury ended his campaign in Week 1. Collier was a first-round bust with the Seahawks, but another one-year contract in Arizona will give him a shot at proving his worth in a starting role this year.
Cardinals signed EDGE L.J. Collier, formerly of the Seahawks, to a one-year contract.
Collier recorded just three sacks in 45 games with the Seahawks after being selected 29th overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. That level of production probably undersells his overall talent level, but he's more of a depth pickup for the Cardinals than someone who will be counted on to start in 2023.
